Chair: Mark Blekherman

Vice-Chair: Janalie Cobb

The Ad-Hoc Committee is a unique addition to PEAMUN this year! It is special in that delegates do not know the topic of the committee until the day of; each person’s performance, therefore, is based solely on critical thinking, diplomacy and other skills. This crisis committee will be even extra fast-paced, requiring delegates to make important decisions on the spot. Because of the skill level required to effectively handle this, interested delegates must apply beforehand using PEAMUN’s application form. Our decisions will come alongside committee assignments for each delegation. Everyone is encouraged to apply, and we are looking for delegates with a strong passion for MUN and international relations.

Meet Your Chair

Mark is a senior at Phillips Exeter Academy and hails from LA. Ever since middle school, he has had a passion for international relations and debate. He has been involved in MUN since his freshman year and enjoys the fast-paced nature of crisis committees. Last year, he served as the Crisis Director, getting the chance to work behind-the-scenes on delegates’ crisis arcs. As a delegate himself, Mark’s favorite committee was Angela Merkel’s Cabinet at the Harvard MUN Conference. Outside of MUN, he is the captain of the debate team and an Opinions Editor for the school newspaper. Mark is looking forward to chairing PEAMUN’s first ever Ad-hoc committee.
