Topic: The Fall of the Berlin Wall
Taking place in 1989, the fall of the Berlin Wall was a pivotal moment in world history, ultimately leading to the end of the Cold War and illustrating the triumph of democratic movements over communist regimes. On top of this, with this committee being based on historical events, each delegate will have the opportunity to rewrite their own history—something I’ve personally enjoyed doing in committees I’ve participated in. Each of you will have the chance to step into the shoes of some of the most influential leaders of the 20th century, with the task of protecting humanity’s best interests. Crisis updates will keep you on your toes, and you must be able to rapidly adapt to updates throughout the committee session. Even if you’re a returning delegate, we strongly encourage taking some time to familiarize yourself with parliamentary procedure. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to email me ([email protected]), Ciara ([email protected]), and/or Evan ([email protected]). I hope you enjoy the Fall of the Berlin Wall Committee!

Hey everyone! My name is Artur N. Ferreira, and I’m currently a Junior at Phillips Exeter. Off campus, I live in northern New Jersey, and I’ve been doing Model UN since my freshman year. Aside from MUN, I’m also in the student council, orchestra, and am a competitive triathlete outside of school. Last year, I was a staffer at PEAMUN, and have competed at various conferences since. I hope you’re all looking forward to the Berlin Wall Crisis committee, where each one of you will represent the world’s most influential leaders while having the opportunity to rewrite history. I’m super excited to be your chair this year, and I can’t wait to see you soon!

Hi! My name is Evan Chen, and I'm a lower (sophomore) from Basking Ridge, New Jersey. I have done Model UN for two years now, and it's been an extremely fun experience here at Exeter. Besides MUN, I also enjoy playing squash, going out with friends, and meeting new people. I can't wait to staff this committee, and I look forward to seeing you all soon!
