The Elite of 2010 New york: The Fabricated Billion-Dollar COntroversy of Anna Delvey
Description:
At the heart of New York City’s elite social scene stood a charismatic young woman named Anna Delvey who had taken Manhattan by storm. Claiming to be a wealthy German heiress backed by a $65 million trust fund, she navigated the world of high society with ease, attending exclusive parties, booking penthouse suites in luxury hotels, and networking with the city’s wealthiest residents. Renowned for her classy demeanor and refined artistic taste, she even strived to initiate her very own exclusive arts club and foundation, titled the Anna Delvey Foundation, with the help of a prominent team of architectural and financial advisors. But as the months passed, frequent lies revealed themselves as hotels and banks began to notice her invalid credit cards and falsified bank statements. However, Anna continued to entice wealthy donors for the Anna Delvey Foundation and further her name in New York’s elite society- until her lies became too much for others to handle. This crisis committee will simulate the fallout from the exposure of Anna Delvey’s mass deception, exploring the social, and financial, and hierarchical ramifications by coordinating the investigation of Anna Delvey.

Hey Delegates! I’m Avery Im, and I’m a current junior from Irvine, California. This is my fourth year participating in Model UN, and first time chairing a crisis committee. I have experience in training newer students to the formalities of MUN, and have won several awards for research, Best Delegate, and Honorable Commendation. Last year, I was provided the opportunity to attend Harvard MUN, which deepened my passion for parliamentary procedure. Other than MUN, I love running my radio show and leading DEI conversations on campus, as well as managing my apparel business at home. I’m super excited to be a chair this year and create the best committee experience for everyone!

Hi! I’m Adu Ilangovan. I am a sophomore at Exeter. I’m originally from West Virginia, but here on campus I live in Bancroft hall. I first started doing Model UN last year, and fell in love with it. PEAMUNXV was actually my first conference. Since then I have attended a couple of other conferences. Outside of model UN, I play volleyball, tennis, and just started learning the guitar! I am also involved with several ESSO or service clubs. In my free time I love watching and rewatching tv shows, learning new songs on the guitar, and reading. I am so excited to be a staffer this year, and help work to put together an incredible committee for you guys!

Hi Delegates! My name is Jade Yoo and I’m a current sophomore from the Bay Area in California. This is my fourth year doing Model UN, and second time helping run a conference! The highlight of my MUN experiences so far would be winning best delegate at Harvard Model Congress and Yale MUN. I really love eating bingsoo (Korean shaved ice), reading, and binge watching shows. Outside of MUN, some of the activities I’m passionate about include robotics, debate, writing for the Exonian, teaching little kids through the ESSO program, singing, and being part of the Dance Company! I’m really excited to help create an amazing experience for you guys and get ready to be part of the best committee!
