Topic: Taliban Takeover of Afghanistan
Description: For the first time in the last two decades, the Taliban have regained total control of Afghanistan. Some claim that the Taliban’s extreme practices and beliefs violate human rights, and a nation controlled by a terrorist group could pose a threat to the entire world. What actions can be taken to help the Afghan people? To what extent should other nations interfere in Afghan affairs? In this committee, you will explore these questions and more as you deliberate the future of Afghanistan.

Hi, my name is Ashley (she/her)! I am a rising senior from Boston, Massachusetts. This is my fourth year doing Model UN and second time chairing a General Assembly. Outside of MUN, I am involved in a few nonprofits which champion educational equity and gender and racial advocacy. I am also passionate about biology/genomic research and aim to pursue public health/healthcare policy in college. In my free time, I love to read (die-hard Percy Jackson fan), sight-see, binge-watch Suits, sip London Fogs, and befriend dogs.

My name is Ethan. I’m from Tewksbury, New Jersey and a sophomore here at Phillips Exeter. I use he/him/his pronouns. I have been a part of MUN since I came to Exeter and attended the Dartmouth MUN conference in April. Model UN is great, but I also do a lot of other stuff too. I am a member of Exeter’s mock trial team, play violin in the Symphonia, run cross country and track, and Soule Hall’s dorm rep. In my free time, I enjoy playing spikeball, basketball, frisbee, or soccer outside with my friends. Can’t wait to see you at PEAMUN!

Hey everyone, I’m Lauren. I'm originally from Hong Kong and Seoul, South Korea, but now live in New Jersey with my family. I enjoy reading, baking, watching films (Wes Anderson and Damien Chazelle forever), and going on long walks. On campus, I am a part of the debate team, mock trial, student council, and the Exonian. Super excited to help out with this wonderful committee!
